This is an old church converted to a restaurant. It's beautiful inside with its wooden ceiling and stained glass windows. The food was wonderful and the staff friendly. We went about Noon, and selections were selling out. We'll have to go earlier next time! L

I am currently in treatment at Cafe Appalachia and this place has saved my life!! I haven't even completed 10 weeks out of 26 weeks of their program and in just 3 weeks of working the internship, my life has completely been changed. My mother told me a few nights ago that her prayers had finally been answered and that her 39 year old daughter has finally been healed from her addiction and with the help of ABHC, I trust and believe that I will be able to take what I have learned and apply it to my future with my addiction, my son, family and whatever adversity I may face.

This is an awesome little place, where they grow their own food or source very locally. Great hippy vibe. If you're looking for a menu with 100 choices, or the same vibe you can get at any chain, please look elsewhere. If you want a unique place with really nice people, delicious food and some great coffee drinks (try the white chocolate lavender coffee drink-you'll thank me), Cafe Appalachia is an awesome choice.

What a fun little place to visit! I really love the atmosphere here and the neat arrangement of different tables and the hydroponic plant station they had set up. I was really excited to try their smash burger and the tomato jam but they were out of that so I'll definitely be back to try that again. I added pickle and cheese and it was really good! My husband had cheesy BLT and added an egg. He seemed to enjoy it. I was blown away by the bacon that was on it and definitely looked really yummy. Both sandwiches served with Mr. Bee's potato chips and both of us had sweet teas to drink. I will definitely be going back and hope that they have the tomato jam in stock because I had never heard of that and it sounds really interesting. My husband told me they had outside seating after we had already ate so I will definitely be doing that next time too.

We came here for a quick bite and coffee while visiting family and everything here is amazing! Great coffee, service and the food was AWESOME! We had the biscuits and gravy and the quiche. So fresh and delicious 😋 (and an amazing mission to boot). We will be back!

The worker was very pleasant and the food was delicious! The lavender coffee was great, and I had the most flavourful soup I've eaten in a while. Unfortunately they were out of quiche, will definitely come back to try again!

So happy there is another breakfast place in town. Now it’s already one of my favorite places to eat in Charleston. I believe the restaurant is like a renovated church and the garden outside makes the place like a little secret getaway. The food is fresh and they are diet conscious with their recipes and servings. The coffee varieties are pleasing also. It opens early also and I am a fan of that. It’s quiet and has a mood that caters to my spirit. The quiche type meal they make is incredible. I don’t know the name of it but it’s in the photos. It’s so good. The cheesy grits are spectacular also. I am awaiting the zucchini bread on the next venture because that is one of my favorite things ever and you can’t get it anywhere else in the area to my knowledge. I will be a regular here in the mornings having coffee and doing the crossword.

This place is adorable and supports a cause. We ordered house blend coffee and it was delicious. Food was tasty though small portions. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

We searched for a local restaurant for breakfast in the Charleston, WV area before we headed to Ohio. This place is a hidden gem. An old church that was transformed to a fabulous eatery. They have their own garden to provide fresh ingredients. You can sit outside in their garden area, (See pics) or sit inside. We ordered an omelet, homemade sausage (excellent), and strawberry parfait. The food was prepared with love and kindness, which made it absolutely delicious! They are a non profit business that supports a woman's recovery home. Go to their website to read their mission. They are only open until 2pm. Make sure to stop by when you are in the area. We loved it!!

Set in an old church building, the atmosphere here is warm and welcoming. The food is fresh and local. There is a garden and greenhouse on the side of the building that they grow fresh vegetables in. It also supports the community to aid those in recovery. It is on the provider side but supports a good cause. The hot drinks are amazing.
